Yeah, I was all for giving him plenty of playing time this year since it was basically a lost year, anyway--but he's just showing no indication that he's going to right himself at this point.  I wonder if he'll even have a spot on the team going into next year?  He's controllable for three more years beyond this one, but I don't know that they'll have much more patience with him.
