When you’re looking at Japan and Korea, you’re looking at low cost pitchers like Imanaga.

The following NPB pitchers are rumored to be considering a move to MLB next season if possible. Even if they do move, there is no guarantee that they will perform well.

Kona Takahashi (Saitama Seibu Lions)
Stats
After the 2022 season, he indicated he would like to play for MLB near future.  As of September 10th, his record for the 2024 season was 0 wins and 11 losses

Kazuto Taguchi  (Tokyo Yakult Swallows)
Stats
On September 3, 2024,Taguchi acquired overseas free agent rights.

Shinnosuke Ogasawara (Chunichi Dragons)

@taylorblakeward

Saw this in an LA Times article and remember you tweeting something about this.

This has been something of an open secret within the California League: The Dodgers’ affiliate would move from Rancho Cucamonga to Ontario, the Angels’ affiliate would move from San Bernardino to Rancho Cucamonga, and the Seattle Mariners’ affiliate would move from Modesto to San Bernardino.

What would be the advantage/reason for the Angels moving to Rancho? Are their facilities better? And if so, why wouldn’t Seattle themselves just move there?

For the fans, better neighborhood for sure, plus going back to where they should have stayed in Rancho Cucamonga.

It wasn't the their choice. The Brett family bought the Quakes, and knew it would be more profitable having a Dodgers  team there. They made the move as soon as they were allowed to.

If he can only DH, I’d rather Kavadas continue to get those ABs.

Maybe send him to AAA for the last week of their season, and then call him up after if he’s good to play 2B.

I'd lean toward sending him to Salt Lake since the Trash Pandas are done.  Not sure that, coming off an injury, it would be ideal for your big league start.

San Bernardino is a shithole. You go to the game, never early to hit some watering hole because there aren't any you want to enter. The stadium is nice enough but prone to high winds. Once the game is over you get to the freeway as fast as possible because you don't want to be in that city at night. As a fan, Rancho was a far better venue.

I think it would be a good move if the 6 teams in the Northwest league moved to so cal, and reverted back to Low A, and the Cal League reverted back to High A. If the Ontario site comes to fruition, there would be a musical chairs game with the Angels getting Rancho, and the Mariners getting San Berdoo. Area's like Bakersfield, Lancaster, Long Beach could fill 3 of the low A teams. Palm Springs would be a no go, but Palm Desert might be a real possibility for a 4th location. That would leave 2 more cities needed.

Lake Elsinore is the Padres affiliate. Too windy around Morongo Casino. In the Palm Springs area you have 3 Agua Caliente Casinos, along with Fantasy Springs, Spotlight 29, and Augustine Casinos.

High winds, high heat during the season. It would be a bad location without a dome and nobody is doing a 3/4 billion dollar dome for the minor leagues.
