Kent so far has struck out 4 through 2 innings. I’m feeling optimistic about him having a big year next season. His stuff has taken a significant jump, though his command regressed this year. I’m excited for next season and believe he’s poised for a breakout. ( and he decides to give up 2 runs while i'm typing this)

Texido has similar control issues, and I’d love to see him add some velocity. He was mostly in the upper 80s (86-89), so seeing him reach the low 90s would be great and could play with his deception.

Vargas is looking like a real prospect to me. He’s posted a 2.91 ERA as a starter over 21 innings and has just turned 20.

If one of these guys can break out, I’d be thrilled.

On the offensive side:

Rio Foster is the big name, but he needs more exposure at the upper levels.

David Mershon looks like a potential Super Utility type of player.

De Jesus has had a solid season but needs to improve his walk and strikeout rates.

Lugo remains a big question mark.

Nicholson has had a promising start to his career. Most importantly, he’s showing strong plate discipline with a 16.7% strikeout rate and a 12.5% walk rate.

He is old for A ball, due to playing 5 seasons in college.

Due to bad hitting environment in A* ball, assuming he gets moved to AA, which will be a big test for him.

Should have sent him to A+ and not AA.   Only had 5 starts in A+ ball for the Phillies.

This aggressive promoting needs a balance.

Are they just anti-Tri-Cities?

Every one of the teams in the minors needs pitching so his assignment probably had to do with a roster spot opening and no candidates for moving up.

Almost ready to give up on him.

Guessing he just doesn’t have the body to withstand the rigors of pitching?

I don't know what the deal is.  I've seen some videos that seem to indicate he's changed his motion/delivery this year.  He's been wildly inconsistent even when he has been healthy.  Check out this run of recent starts.  I've never seen such up and down results:

Look up a player named "Heaney, Andrew."
