Shanuel was a pretty shakey defender last season. So maybe Wash can do the same to Kavadas.

Yep, same.  Plus, he either needs to be put on the 40-man this off-season or he'll be exposed to the Rule 5 draft.  Seems like a guy who'd definitely get taken by a White Sox/Rockies-type team if he's not protected.  Might as well see what you have!

Schanuel just gets it. 22 year old walking as much as he's striking out. 

And we're already seeing the power develop. I don't think he's ever gonna be a 25+ HR guy but 15-20 with those on base skills. I will take that.

At the risk of jinxing it, I'll admit defeat on Schanuel.  He's not going to be a perennial all star or MVP candidate, but a perfectly capable first baseman with the bat in the majors.

I thought he needed more MILB time….Glad I was wrong….Heck, if either Adell or Moniak had really busted out, to go with Schanuel, Neto and O’Hoppe, we’d have the best core you could have possibly hoped for.

Truly think some of the aggressive promotions are being lined up in a way where we see Dana, Moore, Aldegheri, Klassen and maybe Rada start impacting the 2025 team - they’re all in AA now - as an attempt by Perry to get an extension beyond this/next year.

This year to prove he’s building a farm and a young core, next year to prove he’s *built* that and it’s going to start producing big league wins.

I mean, 2026:

O’Hoppe, Schanuel, Moore, Neto, maybe Fontenelle, Trout, Rada, Adell/Lugo/Moniak could be possible.

Rotation could be Soriano, Dana, Klassen, Aldegheri, Johnson. Bullpen headed by Joyce, Cortez, Minacci.

And that’s not counting lesser draft guys, next year’s potential #1, and whomever he does get when he trades Anderson, Rengifo and Ward. He’s systemically building a young core, position-by-position.
