Quijada had his second rehab outing in Arizona today, so I expect him to be activated after the All-Star break (if not sooner).

He's coming back from Tommy John.  My guess is he gets the full 30-day rehab before they activate him.  I don't think a couple innings in the ACL is going to be enough to see how he's really doing.

Bachman went 5 2/3 innings tonight.  7 H, 5 R (3 ER), 1 BB, 4 K.  He's only walked 3 guys in 23 2/3 innings this year, so it's nice to see that improvement.  Just kind of blah results otherwise, though.  I assume he's still shaking off some rust from the surgery.

Barrett Kent's night is over after 4 2/3 innings.  Gave up 7 H, 8 R (4 earned), walked 4, K'ed 5, hit a guy, had a pitch timer violation, and balked twice with runs scoring on both.  Yikes.  That's his 4th bad start out of his last 5.

Dana had his first truly bad start in a long time today.  I guess he was due.  4 innings, 6 H, 6 ER, 5 BB, 3 K, hit a guy, and had a wild pitch.

His first full season after pitching just 68 innings a year ago, and now 84 innings already

Detmers went 6 innings tonight. 4 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 11 K. Had one bad inning, pretty much dominated other than that.

With how insane Salt Lake is for pitchers, you’re pretty much looking for K and BB rates for guys like Detmers. Glad to see him have a good game.

Hiura hit another HR today (#11). Assuming Rendon finds his way back to the DL shortly after he comes off it, Hiura at 2B and Rengifo at 3B might be a better option than Rengifo at 2B and Sano at 3B.

Drury should play enough at 2B or DH to be traded. He is not a part of the future. Hiura is just 27 and they need to find out if he is for real or just a mirage.

You have to wonder if fatigue is starting to set in for Dana and Kent. Dana hasn't looked as sharp in his past few starts and is approaching 100 innings pitched. Kent is at 70 innings, and last year, Dana stopped at 68 innings.

Joshua Lugo is making a name for himself with a great blend of power and hitting ability. His upside is incredibly high, and he might be making some noise in the system.

81 PAs in the DSL so far:

.405/.444/.635/1.079 with 9 doubles and 7 SBs, only 13 Ks

If he continues to hit well, go straight to A ball next season at age 18?

It seems that the time has come to call Detmers back up?   They are short on MLB starting pitching.

He’s had a month of starts in AAA, and improved basically every start and culminated in a dominant start this past week.
