I just came here to post the same thing. Arte is an awful owner from a fan perspective and baseball product.  But he’s sharp at business.  He knows what shohei’s value is. The rest of the team are speculating. 
 

one day I was walking around the stadium doing laps. Team was out of town. Two buses full of Japanese people were buying custom jerseys in the gift shop.  They were printing money with him hundreds of miles away.

I am shocked that people did not know Dodgers would meet with Ohtani. Before Roberts said anything everybody knew that happened or would happen.
