Yep.  That's why I think it's kinda silly that the team keeps doing this "day-to-day" and putting him in the lineup, then scratching him nonsense.

Yeah it's dumb. But I think it's been well documented now that Ohtani wears the pants in this organization. What he says goes! 

For any other player they would have been put on the IL right away after that awkward swing and pain that ensued.

You look at this lineup and see that only Sandoval and O'Hoppe were supposed to be regulars at the start of the year. And O'Hoppe missed the bulk of the season.

This is about as makeshift and desperate a lineup I can remember in a long time. And not intentionally done to tank or experiment with. Just plugging holes with warm bodies from wherever they can find them.

In the most pessimistic scenarios, who could have imagined them limping into the off-season like this?

No, just doesn’t make sense to think he can recover from an oblique injury so soon.

How often has an oblique injury healed within 10 days at least?

Nor does it make sense to assume he needs to go on the IL. If they thought he should be there he’d be there. He was literally in the starting line up yesterday and then scratched. This is a day to day thing right now.
