He's gone anyway, why would a guy that wants to win stay with a team that is repeatedly a disaster.

Because maybe he does want to stay here. There is a lot to be said for familiarity and comfortability. But he has the fire to win too. Maybe he is more loyal to the Angels in his heart than any outsider thinks.

That said, if we slip up big in the next 4 games, one of the big contenders (TB, BAL, LAD) could throw us an offer for him that would not be smart to refuse.

Every executive in baseball knows that the Angels FO has one of the most heart-splitting decisions a sports franchise could possibly have to make coming up soon. 

If Ohtani truly wants to be an Angel, he could re-sign in the offseason after netting us an insane package and just shock the baseball world. Think of how glorious that would be.
