How are you all liking the shorter MLB games?

Recommended Posts

So far in 2023, MLB game times are averaging 2 hours and 38 minutes (158 minutes), down from 3 hours and 6 minutes (186 minutes) in 2022. The last time games were this short was the 1981 season, which was shortened by a players' strike; the last full season with an average below 2 hours and 38 minutes was 1979.

In 2000, average game times hit the three-hour mark for the first time, then slipped for a decade before climbing back to 3 hours or more from 2012 to 2022.
