If you look at total offensive production this team currently is far worse than last year. There are only three players hitting above league average. Rengifo, Rendon and Neto are hitting 35% below league average, Lamb and Drury shouldn't even be playing. Couple that with the bullpen and they are not showing themselves as a better team than last season. 

Maybe they will get better as players work into their roles, and they really have to because they cannot continue waiting for three solo home runs to save them from losing to last place teams.

Other than a very small few, most would agree that the 2023 40 man roster and coaching staff, is much stronger than the 2022 40 man roster and staff.   The fact that they are at .500 while currently under performing is a win.

It's not gloom and doom.

To this point in the season it's the facts and you can't argue the facts.

Refer to Blargs post in another thread about some of this teams players OPS+...facts!!

On paper, sure this is a better team than last year, but it's not resulting in wins...Yet!

Now if your outlook was that the team can't improve and win more games then that would be a doom and gloom attitude.

The fact is they're .500 currently...Yes it could be worse, but it should be better.
