Before the start of the season teams I thought were going to take a step back or were over rated.
Rays: thought they’d be around where I thought the Angels would be, 86-88 wins.

Boston and Texas: suspect health in the rotation had me thinking 80-84 wins.

Twins: .500 type team

Cleveland: .500

Yankees: 85 or so wins because of offense and health or rotation with Severino and Rodon’s history

I’ve been wrong a lot so far.

Texas scored two in the 10th to take the lead against the A’s. The A’s hit a 3 run walk off homer. Shame.

They blew the lead 4 times in the game.

They're season must be over.

Today I learned 29 year old and former platinum glove winner Byron Buxton is the twins' full time DH.  I know he's only played 100 games once before, he's only missed 3 games so far this year, and they brought in Michael Taylor who's good in CF himself, but seems like they're losing a lot of his potential value just having him hit.

Whatever works I guess

buxton can't stay healthy when he plays the OF. the only way they're getting any value out of him is if he's the full time DH.

This is probably going to be considered blasphemy here, but I've been thinking the Angels may actually be better off if Ohtani just concentrated on pitching every 5 days and we go back to a 5 man rotation. Ohtani, Sandoval, Canning, Anderson, Detmers. Rotate DH with Taylor Ward, Trout, Rendon; (maybe even Ohtani some times against righties he hits well against but only once or at most twice between his starts). Give more time to Moniak/perhaps even Adell eventually in the outfield as well. This will give us one extra person in the bullpen (Silseth). And save us from trotting out a 6th starter all the time.
