Thoughts on Trevor Bauer?

So he’s not worth taking on a small part of his contract or he’s not worth a small prospect but he’s worth enough to possibly damaging the clubhouse?

Perry won't touch Bauer due to the high probability (based on track record) potential of messing up the clubhouse harmony.  Not a chance.

My guess Rangers since the Mets have to deal with the New York media that would crucify the ownership for taking on Bauer's baggage. Texas... probably not that much scrutiny concerning the flack Bauer may attract.

Don't know what he's worth.  We're fixin' to find out.  But it's worth looking into.

Yep. I think a team that’s done a lot this offseason will make a move for him. So Mets or Rangers.

Rangers probably.  And he will make them significantly better.  Plus you don’t have no whiney little Taylors in Texas so the PR hit should be minimal.

But winning means everything to them. They chose to get rid of the player despite the fact he could help them win because their rotation is not deep at all and has question marks everywhere. That’s how bad of an impression he left on the organization.

Exactly, he embarrassed them... but in the end, it doesnt matter.  Im not trying to convince anyone of anything, think what you will, but there is more than one way to read the situation.  WE believe which one we believe based on our view of it.

Sure. And the other 29 teams that didn't even inquire about a trade?

Why would you when you could get him for league minimum and not give up anything?
He will be on someones roster opening day, id put money on that.  They may have passed on the trade for PR reason but hes going to be in someones uniform.

I’ll bet you a case of natty ice that no one put him on their 25 man roster by opening day.

Why would you?  Because if you trade for him he’s yours. If you don’t trade for him he can go anywhere he wants. If you picked up a million of his contract instead of $720k he’s yours regardless of the “prospect” you give the Dodgers.

Apparently this concept is hard to understand.

There are 29 other teams. There is one Trevor Bauer. So only one team can “get him without giving up anything”. 29 teams passed at trading for him so far. Who knows maybe get gets traded before he’s officially released.

With the trepidation surrounding him, I don't see anyone giving anything up to acquire him.
