Cole avoided the disaster inning.  Pitch count got up and lucky that 1-2 pitch he got hosed on didn't come back and get him.

Yeah, that whole inning could have been a disaster.

It's interesting to me that so far today, the three home starting pitchers haven't looked their sharpest.  All are coming off of longer-than-usual layoffs (6 days for Cole and Verlander, 10 for Fried).  Curious to see what Urias does later tonight after a 6-day layoff.

I am still of the belief that if you bring in your closer and he gets in a mess, it is his mess to clean up. That's why he's your closer.

Not to mention they still had a 2 run lead. 

Don't bring some other guy in cold, with 1 out left in the game, and force the closer to watch the game be blown from the dugout.

Yes, by round, I believe it now goes best of 3, 5, 7, 13, 21, 35, and then ends in mid-December.

Ok, forget this.  Ha.  Cole settled down and Urias has looked great so far.

These playoffs have had a good amount of comebacks so far. Teams can't just settle. They need to keep scoring runs. Dodgers up 5-3 top 6th and Padres have 2 on with 1 out.
