Technically Pujols won't be gone until 2032. He'll be around on a "personal services" contract in which he gets paid $1M a year to not wear a Cardinals hat in public for ten years. That means if he gets into the HOF as a Cardinal 5 years after his retirement, participating in the induction ceremony would actually be a violation of his contract.

Thread title should be "2030". Like the Albert Brooks book. For those who've read it, this year's team has many similarities to many of the subplots (and the overall main plot) of the book.
