I'm not exactly a fan of Davidson, but I don't really understand why you pull him there, even if he's struggling.  If you're going to pull him in a situation like that at this point in the season, I don't know why you're bothering to start him at all.  Presumably, he's being evaluated to see if he's a possibility for next season.  This season is a lost cause, so let him take some lumps and see if he can get out of bad situations.  Otherwise, just dump him now and give some innings to someone else altogether.

I don't disagree with you--but, again, if you ARE sending him out there, why pull him in the 3rd?  I truly don't understand what purpose it serves.
