OC Register: Reports: Angels trade Brandon Marsh to Phillies for catching prospect

Recommended Posts

The Angels have reportedly dealt outfielder Brandon Marsh to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for catcher Logan O’Hoppe, who was one of the Phillies’ top prospects.

O’Hoppe, 22, was the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Phillies’ system, according to MLB Pipeline. He played this year in the Futures Game. O’Hoppe was hitting .269 with an .877 OPS at Double-A.

Marsh, 24, has played Gold Glove-caliber defense for the Angels, but he’s hitting .226 with a .637 OPS, and he has the highest strikeout rate in the majors.

More to come on this story.
