My son's LL team won their District TOC on Saturday. It was a very emotional week. His best friend (since birth) and teammate (a very good player) was diagnosed with Stage III cancer just before the tournament started. He had kidney pain was originally diagnosed with a laceration. When they went in to check it out they found a honeydew sized tumor.

The boys rallied around their friend and his family and amazed everyone.

As luck would have it, it was Ethan's turn on the bump for the final game. He went 5.1 before hitting his pitch limit and got the W following an unlikely rally in the Top of the 6th.

Clearly, Travel ball revealed the characters of those boys.  Good job in rallying around their friend and coming through with a victory.   Prayers and best wishes to the boy's battle with cancer.

You would center it around Cooperstown. That is the big 12U destination. They have 64 team tournaments every weekend June-August. It's the focus of everything from when these kids are 10.

My son's teammates all went last year.  We were too busy running from the fire in Lahaina.  Gnarly stories from there; one husband/wife essentially fought the whole time, the single Moms went out looking to get some strange, coaches stuck babysitting the kids in the cabin every night, and half the team got norovirus IIRC.  They didn't have enough pitching and got smoked

That is what happens to most teams. Shit, most teams don't have enough pitching for a 4 game local tournament. To play 7-10 games in a week is impossible for most teams
