How about we “get him” to increase the salary budget $100m to buy the players they need?

They don’t have to increase the budget they just have to quit wasting it on over the hill hitters. Put the budget where it’ll do most good pitching pitching pitching.

And even thinking about trading OHTANI is ridiculous. Once in 100 year player. To lose that marketing is just crazy. And even thinking about trading OHTANI is ridiculous. Once in 100 year player. To lose that marketing is just crazy.

Welcome aboard

The problem with buying pitchers is that the big money pitchers generally don’t pitch to what they are making either.

It’s all about good drafting and development, smart trades, and FA deals to the best of your own in house players.   The Cardinals way has worked for many years.

With Ohtani, they HAVE to either sign him to a new deal, or if he’s not wanting to, trade him for a strong package (not like the one the Marlins got for Cabrera).   You CAN’T only get a sandwich round pick for losing him to FA.   That will set back the franchise further for several years.

You guys don’t have to be haters I just decided to start a topic that Might gain traction. I don’t know about all you folks but I’m tired of 20 years of his ownership doing nothing to get good pitching. May be a two game boycott so he can look at all the empty seats would be a start. Another suggestion is a lot of fans bring signs that say please sell the team Mr. Marino. Just suggestions the hate replies we don’t need.

I'm sure Ohtani and any other player/agent would love to see this.  Solid plan.

It looks like you want an owner to invest a couple of billion dollars of their own money into a sports team and not have any input.  Another solid idea.

What makes you think Arte is not equally frustrated with the results?  I really don't think Arte is the problem; I think it's someone else in the organization Arte deeply trusts and is loyal to not named Minasian.

I have no idea what the problem is. And I agree that it's hard for me to blame Moreno, simply because he's spent a ton and has gotten little in return.

That said, I have no idea what the actual problem is and so who it is to blame.

Arte pays guys to perform, and they don't. That's not his fault. But if he's pinching pennies somewhere that counts, that is his fault. Whether that's coaches, scouts, etc etc.

But there's obviously something very wrong with this organization. Not simply at the MLB level.

The problem 100% is Arte.
