Sandoval, a tale of two seasons

Recommended Posts

Through May 22:

40.2 innings, 1.79 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 38/17 Ks/BBs, 0 HRs, 5.8 innings per start

Since May 29:

43.2 innings, 5.58 ERA, 1.84 WHIP,

53/22 Ks/BBs, 4 HRs, 4.8 innings per start

Any thoughts on what has led him down the path of many hits and walks allowed, after a great first 7 starts?

The team is crap and that may be messing with guys heads. He’s also young and needs to learn to work through the bad stretches. I’m not concerned as he’s shown he can pitch at a high level

My guesses would be:

1.  Shitty defense hidden by shitty official scoring decisions

2. Shitty offense placing increased pressure on Sandoval

3. Shitty scouting by the Angels for game preparation

4. Shitty umpiring

5. Shitty recover plans after having a bad outing

6. Shitty self control

Other than that, how did you enjoy the performance Mrs. Lincoln?

1. OVER SHIFT and moving dudes out of their normal or usual positions.. Infielders in OF is going to create issues also.

2. Could be, attempting to be overly perfect on every pitch. However, I have seen more of the opposite... Flattening and spinning stuff while falling off the mound.

3. Do we even Pre-Scout anymore????....
