His fastball topped out at 90 mph last season, so I don’t see much there unless he has a velo spike in him.

He had made 5-6 rehab appearances and needed to be activated from the 60-day IL, so I guess they put him on waivers rather than DFA someone else to active him.

Yeah Tampa does not know what they are doing. If they want to be a team in the playoffs, they need to spend more. That low payroll is not working

Tampa takes every DFA claim and makes them into effective relievers, then flips them as soon as someone as desperate as the Angels comes along and offers them legitimate prospects.

Gotta hand it to the Rays, they're good at scooping up talent and not paying much for it. 

Would be in 1st place if they were in the AL Central and 2nd place in the AL West.
