It’s time to remove Velazquez from the lineup.

With Villar and Stefanic arriving, either DFA or option Wade and have Velazquez focus on late innings defense in place of Stefanic.

All he's paid to do is to hit baseballs and catch baseballs. He does it at least 40+ hours a week. And he's done it for a decade. Watch and hit a baseball. Anywhere. Doesn't need to be a home run, put it in play.

I get paid well for what I do, I've done it for half a decade, and I could do it in my sleep. 

He's quite good at one thing, how he is so bad at the other really is perplexing.

I've a defense first SS kinda guy and have defended playing Velasquez but this is too much.  Your defensive SS can hit .220 but not .120. He can't strike out when you need a sacrifice fly.  He can't play if the rest of the lineup sucks.

He doesn't deserve a "cute" nickname. Just type "Velazquez" enough so your phone or computer fills it in automatically after a couple letters.

He'd be perfectly fine if the offense was hitting like they were at the beginning of the year. 

Now that they suck, his inability to hit is a serious problem.

Especially when you can go to any message board and find a guy that could hit over .200.

If I were in my prime, and I stepped into the batters box in an MLB game, I'd never make contact. Ever. The only way I would is possibly during a practice scenario where I can see the same pitch 10 straight times. But a live game? I'm hitting .000. 

Baseball is fucking hard.
