Not sure even the Angels would be that dumb.

This is where i hope the Angels aren't total cheapstakes. If they take on even half of Syndergaard's remaining contract, all of a sudden they go from getting a 40+/45 FV prospect, to possibly a 45+/50 FV prospect. But chances are Arte wants the cash for yacht fuel.

While Marsh has mostly sucked this year, he still has defensive value and offensive upside, and thus substantial trade value. I'd expect at least one of Abel or O'Hoppe in return, plus another 45/45+ FV guy.

As for the Angels, Marsh is valued at 32.5, Syndergaard at 4.7 - so 37.2 total.

So I could see something like Abel (55 FV) and Rojas (45+ FV).

Info is so sketchy right now but some reports have the Padres paying all of Hosmer's salary the next two years -- that may why they agreed to take him.  Someone has to play 1B for them.
