The prospects involved in the Soto trade:

CJ Abrams 60 FV (#11 overall)

Robert Hassell 50 FV (#41 overall)

James Wood 50 FV (#66 overall)

MacKenzie Gore was 50 FV (would be top 100)

Jarlin Susana 40+ FV

So basically four top 100 prospects, one of whom is basically top 10.

As I said before, this represents the upper limit to an Ohtani trade. Note that the Padres also unloaded Eric Hosmer, who is due 3/$39M in 2023-25, plus another $7M or so this year, and got Josh Bell, who is a free agent after this year.

Jarlin Susana will be big surprise in a few years.

So if it is Marsh and Syndergaard, what would that bring us back?  Who do they have that fits our needs?  Would it be someone like Alex Bohm?  Or do they have a catcher?

In that package I would love to get players that are signed that can contribute next year and beyond.

Guys like Bohm or Schwarber in addition to one of these prospects: C Logan O'Hoppe or RHP Griff McGarry would be awesome.

Schwarber would have to play OF…no room at DH…

After Mick Abel, the Phillies prospect list doesn't look great, and if they're also getting Marsh, one would hope they'd be sending something good back in return.

I'd love Mick Abel, though. I could live with that. Logan O'Hoppe looks solid, and then there are a few guys who look decent. But Abel is the only one I'd feel good about getting for Marsh.

According to baseballtradevalues.com, the Padres are gettin 171.30, the Nationals 108.30. Not sure why they're accepting Hosmer. Taking him out (-35.2) and it is still rather lopsided at 143.5.

As for the Angels, Marsh is valued at 32.5, Syndergaard at 4.7 - so 37.2 total.

Abel is 28.2, Painter 25.8, O'Hoppe 21, Rojas 7.1, etc.

So I could see something like Abel (55 FV) and Rojas (45+ FV).
