Aaron Judge will never be as good as he is this year. He's got the talent - and is one of the best hitters in baseball - but he's doing what a lot of guys do: holding it together during his walk year. Signing Judge would probably be the next in a line of never-ending albatross contracts that end up as disasters. Big guys like Judge rarely age well.

If Arte wants to go in on a big free agent, I'd prefer Trea Turner or Xander Bogaerts. Both fill a need more than Judge does, and both--I think--will age better.

Judge will probably try to use the Angels as a possible suiter to drive up the Yankees offer, ala Gerritt Cole.

Despite Judge being from California and still being close to those that have long known him, the man loves New York and the city and stadium loves him back. He may leverage that into more money but ultimately he stays put and the Angels use that "luxury tax" scenario to lock up Ohtani for a few more years.

Why?  Judge can't play 2B or SS, and he can't pitch.  We also may need to bring in someone that can play 3B, since Rendon can only play 35 games a season.

Agreed.  If they are going to make a big money tree agent mistake, I'd prefer it be either Turner or Bogaerts.
