I disagree. Obviously Sosh wouldn’t have gone to the lengths that Nevin did, but he still would’ve retaliated. Remember that infamous game against the Nats in 2005?

I don't think MS or Nevin told the players to retaliate.  Just that they've gotta do what they've gotta do.  I don't think MS would have gone with an opener and telegraph it, but I must say I'm warming up to Nevin a bit.  It takes some serious sack to do that 'just in case'.  

I don't think Maddon would have made a point to stop them though.

Nevin just seems like an old school baseball guy and as long as he’s not throwing analytics in the trash I’m all for it.
