Jk fitzsimmons....the farmers or all state commercial guy. He was pretty damn good. I actually have watched him in some other things and dig what he does.

I think True Detective is going to be pretty bad ass. The first one was great, but the down south cult shit was unrelateable. LA and the story moving forward seems pretty rad.

Watched True Detective last night... It has a few stories that made it tough to follow, but I'm sure it will all come together.  I like Farrell, Vaughn, and Rachel McAdams so I'll try to keep-up with it.

 

Also watched HBO's two other new shows...

 

Ballers is pretty funny, mostly because of the Rock.  He's an ex-NFL'er who is trying to get into the player-rep game.

 

I enjoyed The Brink a lot more, tho!  It's got Jack Black, Tim Robbins, and Aasif Mandvi (From the Internship, Last Airbender) and was funnier than Ballers.  It seems to be about a coup in Pakistan, and our governments' response (The govt. folks seem to be pretty cardboard so far).

Saw Gone Girl last night.  Man, what a F'd up movie.  Or I should say characters.  In the end, I'm like who the F was I supposed to cheer for.

Pretry crazy shit that went on down there.

Those people put football first and Paterno was a god down there. Sandusky was around children his whole adult life which made me think about what he did to those kids. Disgusting.

bank robbery flick with clive owen and denzel washington. interesting premise, but i thought they could have done a better job on what they revealed and how much they revealed. also, for a detective, there were times when denzel was just too flippant/smug.

That was a good documentary. Sandusky was essentially preying on those boys. Crazy how it was swept under the rug for so long.

For those who haven't given it a chance, I'll give you one.  Ed ****ing Norton.  He's hilarious.  

Looking forward to checking this out when it's on-demand!  I like Ed Norton's movies, tho I don't have to work around him.

On a side note, my buddy has been working with big Arnold recently (body guarding him on the tour for the new Terminator flick).  I was stoked when he brought me back a few Cubans (cigars, AW pervs) from Arny's private stash!

I was gonna watch this one last night, but decided I wasn't in the right mood for it.  

Decided to watch Are you here.  It stars Zach Galif... Owen Wilson, and Amy Poehler so I thought it would be hilarious.  Well, I won't get that time back in my life.  It had a few moments, but overall it was really kinda disjointed and hard to follow for what should have been a simple dramedy.

Finished the first season of True Detective.  Great show.  The back and forth between Harrelson and Mcconaughey was what really made the show.

Bill Engvall tells a tale during one of his shows about a guy who calls himself a "professional Bigfoot Hunter". He says that he doesn't know the guy, "but I will tell you this: he's single."

Cliff Barackman, one of the Finding Bigfoot team, brags about spending a year living in his car and looking for Sasquatches. He is divorced (shocker) and he once taught science in California public schools.

does anyone else watch "to catch a contractor" on spike tv? i like that they're trying to right the wrongs committed by crappy contractors, but i don't like the pit bull mentality of the two hosts in trying to shame the guy. they bash and bash and bash relentlessly, and it's too much.

Wife and I decided to start Longmire

 

Watched the first 3 episodes. It has 5 stars on the rating scale at Netflix.

 

Not so sure I can make it 33 episodes. A little slow. Good characters, but very predictable plot. TV show so each one ends in an hour. Would be better if it rolled into more episodes per plot

Watched the Glen Campbell special last night.

 

He now has Alzheimer's disease and can't perform any more. The show was about him losing his memory and how it affected him in daily life and during the shows.

 

Very informative show and really shows first hand what this does to people. Such a talented performer and and overall good guy.

 

Saw him live in 2007 at the Riverside Casino here in Laughlin, Nevada. Great show and he has so many hit songs. He can really play the guitar. We always talked about going to see him again before he retired, but we never did.

We are giving it another try and we are into the 2nd season. Problem is some of the shows are good and some are just average which makes you want to stop watching. There is some underlying plots emerging that is helping it along.

 

I know it's a series, but hard to believe so many deaths in such a small area. We always say that we will never move to Wyoming because of that. Murder rate has to be higher than NY and Chicago.
