The first season or two of Homeland was really great. I ditched it, probably prematurely as the show had a bunch of seasons, so it must have went off in a different direction.

Like Succession, I was just kind of like, "How long are they going to keep telling the same repetitive narrative?" But again, they probably adjusted course as the show went on for many seasons.

Netflix:   Alice in Borderland  A Japanese 2 season (so far?) 8 episode series.  It has the framework of Alice in Wonderland although maybe just the foundation, combined with Hunger Games and Squid Game.  Very Sci Fi'ish.  This one was right up my alley, and probably one of the better shows I've seen in a long time.  It's pretty bloody, so if that's not your thing, then it's a pass.  But if you liked Hunger Games, Squid Game, or really Sci Fi, I'd highly recommend this one.

Yeah, it's basically a direct re-creation of Drive to Survive, but with golf. Same format/structure and style. I'm sure the PGA saw what that series did for F1 in the US and was like "Can we be next please?" As GB said, people that are already fans of golf will probably enjoy it, yet the show is very clearly aimed at people that know nothing about golf. Like they spend a lot of time talking about how tournaments work, explaining scoring, etc... I remember a huge text graphic at one point explaining what a bogey is for instance.

Saw this morning they are going to this same theme that worked for F1 and golf with football.

Not 100% sure, but I think they are going to do this same premise. It said they are going to follow Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariotta. All three on different trajectories, so should be interesting. Not sure when it will be on Netflix.

Finally finished S3 of Succession

Kind of disappointed in this season. Same plot as the other seasons. Kendall trying to take over with no plan. Shiv and Roman who are worthless. Then the dialog is weak and all over the place. They talk about nothing and get nothing done. It did finish strong and S4 is coming out in March. Not sure if I'll watch it.

Pretty much my thoughts and how I felt. I even said the same thing here when I watched last year. Good show with good writing, but extremely repetitive. If you take a step back and actually look at the plot, you start to go, "How many seasons are they going to keep doing the same bullshit?"

I thought the season started out kind of uneven but ended very well. I'm excited for S4. Still my favorite current show on TV.

Jesse Alexander (creator of Succession) said in an interview that the upcoming 4th season will be the last.

Makes sense. Even the name of the show is linear in premise. I feel like they took it as far as they could.

Agree

All theydo is run back the same show season after season with very few changes

Will S4 be different?

Netflix:  Treason  A British limited series (5 episodes long).  It deals with MI6 trying to find a traitor.  But this one deals with the higher ups.  Was pretty good for a limited series.  A good evening binge.

It's on my list

Band of Brothers HBO

What a great show

Hearing directly from the men who fought there made it more intense and very impactful for the viewer

The highest respect for all who fight in wars

E9 at the concentration camp was moving and emotional

War is terrible and these men went through some really bad times seeing the death all around them

Well written, well acted
