Big Hero 6.  Yeah, animated movie.  It was a very predictable movie.  But none the less, it was enjoyable.

The short film called Feast they showed before Big hero 6 was very good.

Saw it last night.  Enjoyed it a lot.  Did you catch the Stan Lee appearance?  The short was very good I agree.  All in all a very enjoyable movie experience.

cloud atlas = C?

i'm not really sure how to grade this one. the individual story lines were interesting, but the connection tying them all together was less than satisfactory. that korean chick seemed to be a lot more important as a rebel leader, but yet there was missing info about her. same with the old man who was tricked into being admitted to aurora house as a patient, not as a guest. just a few weird gaps and holes in the story.

I liked this movie if only because of the club scene with Siouxsee and the Banshees.  And it had a song by The Cult ("Ocean of Love" I think) that was the original version before Rick Rubin produced and ruined the band's sound.  At the time, it was the only way you could hear the original version before Rubin took a massive dump on The Cult.

Out Of Bounds on Crackle

Apparently, this was made to toughen up Anthony Michael Hall's geek image.  I can see why it failed.

i won't pay to watch the Mockingjay movies.

It's the worst book of the series with barely enough content to make 1 shitty movie, much less 2.

I'm sure it's not as bad as the teen fan fiction that Jackson is peddling for the upcoming 3rd Hobbit movie, which I also will not pay to see.

Pretty bold opinion for someone who hasn't seen any of those movies mentioned. ;)

I really, really liked Mockingjay. I'm a sucker for exposition, and it was pretty much nothing but that. It was, IMO, enough material for a single film. This is contrary to some criticisms I've seen of the film.

Mockingjay is actually the only one of the series that I haven't read, but I like that it took what was the secondary on screen focus of the first two and competently made it the primary focus here.

The focus on how very much Katniss is a pawn was great. She's the least in control movie "hero" in recent memory.

Just watched "Interstellar"

I'm a huge Nolan fan, but this film did not live up to the hype.

Visually stunning, and superbly-acted, but the glaring plot holes were to vast to be ignored.

Interstellar - 7.5/10

I loved it. I would give it a 12/10. It was that good.

I am looking forward to Mockingjay. I have read the whole series, so I am anticipating how both parts of Mockingjay will look on film.

I'm also curious what happens to the lines that Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is supposed to have, especially in Part 2.

Just wait until they release the additional movies in the Divergent series. I think Katniss will look like Putin compared to Tris.

I enjoyed Cloud Atlas (got the Blu-Ray), but I think it might have seemed much less disjointed if they had played through each of the story lines, instead of jumping from one to another then another. But I get why they did it the way they did.

I thought Interstellar was fantastic. Might be my favorite Nolan film. Definitely the most "human" film he's done, and the questions it raises about space/time, empathy, survival, humanity, and love are fascinating. I might go see it again in IMAX.

Saw the IMAX.

Do yourself a favor, get there early so you can get a seat in the middle or back. I was in the third row...

Gone Girl

I didn't like it as much as others but thought it was pretty good. What a crazy broad. Would've liked different resolution.

I had the exact same reaction to it.

My wife had read the book, so she was already prepared. I came out of the theater, and I said to her, "What the fvck?"

22 Jump Street - B.  Same jokes as the first one, and they allude to that several times in the movie.

Chef - B+.  This movie is just two hours of food porn, and Jon Favreau.

Edge of Tomorrow - B.  Gets a slight downgrade for renaming itself "Live Die Repeat."  Better than I anticipated.
