They need whoever is least likely to be a fuck up at SS so that’s probably Velazquez it seems like.  2b I think we’ve see. Fletcher be really great defensively in the past but you may put a little more consideration what’s going on with the players hitting there.  Fletcher has looked pretty bad with the bat.

Well it really depends upon performance. I'm leaning towards Velazquez and Fletcher, but only if Velazquez can--at the very least--surpass the Mendoza line, and Fletcher--at least--split the difference between his 2018-20 form and his 2021 crapitude.

Obviously Wade has been the most dynamic player so far, but I think in the long-run, I like him as a utility guy: getting starts here and there, but mostly coming off the bench to pinch-run.

Duffy has the highest floor, and in a way is the "least sexy" option. But if the above three struggle, he's a solid fall-back option. Mayfield also has a decent floor, but is the guy of the five I expect to get the least playing time, at least over the long haul.

And of course I still hold out hope for Rengifo, but think he's likely trade bait at this point, and would like to see Stefanic and Davis at some point, but I think they are probably either options for next year or will also be traded, or simply stagnate as minor league depth in case of injury.

At this point I would say Velazquez and Fletcher. The lack of hitting doesn't bother me at MIF we just need them to execute defensively. We know what Fletcher is and I like what I'm seeing from Velazquez.

I still hold out hope for Rengifo as well.  He is seeing the bulk of his starts at SS in AAA, so perhaps he still has a future here.

Stefanic seems like he'll hit, the question is whether he can play passable defense at 2B, especially given that shifts will be banned starting next year.

From what I've read, Davis projects more at 3B than he does at SS/2B.  We'll see.
