He could have gotten 5 more outs then he would have been 1 out away from a perfect game.  At that point, I'm sure he would have gone for it.

Oh, and also, it was a f'n joke. Lighten up.

So you actually expect him to get 5 outs on 5 pitches?

Probably because he's coming off an injury and it's like 35 degrees there today.  My guess is that he doesn't really give a shit about getting a perfect game.  He already has a no-hitter and he's probably more interested in a) the team winning and b) not messing up his elbow again.

If I had been a MLB player, Minnesota would have been like the 25th team I would consider.

35 degree temps in mid-April?

In the daytime?

7 innings, 80 pitches, when Kershaw had already told Roberts he was okay with 80-85 pitches. If it had been 70 pitches, I imagine he would have left him in.

Kershaw pitched a simulated game last week (5 innings, 70 pitches). That's the only real action he's had since last year. He's 34 years old and it's 35 degrees outside.

No Dodger fan here, but glad Kershaw left the game with arm intact.

Those final two innings can very difficult when you're talking a potential perfecto. Countless perfect games have been ruined in the 8th or 9th.

And every perfect game wasn't.
