A team that really struggled on the road before Thursday. 3-9 in their last 12 road games before facing the Angels' pitching. Also, the Angels were the betting favorites in all 4 games, but couldn't even win one of them.

Did Maddoning ever say why he took out Barria despite retiring the first 7 batters and just allowing the one BB, and why he brought in Corbett Tepera instead of the red hot Herget?

Has he never heard of riding the hot hands, and not putting in a rookie (Ortega) with runners on base?

Ortega has been great, but as a rookie you still want to mainly use him at the start of innings.

Total mismanagement!

What is his fascination with Corbett Tepera and Poup?   What they make?

Anddd despite his issue in the 7th, Maddoning still stayed with Corbett Tepera, instead of bringing in Herget!!!!!

You had the lead, IDIOT!!!

Maddoning possibly cost them TWO wins that series, that were much needed!!!!!

The baseball gods decided to have a little fun with Angels and their fans this year, by teasing us with uncharacteristic success for the first 20% of the season.

Then they got serious and presented true Angel baseball the way it was intended to be played.

I will be very surprised if they are still above .500 by the time the Mets leave town in a couple of weeks.

Team cannot withstand key injuries and shaky bullpen.

No Taylor Ward might have already cost them two close losses, and now more to come with Rendon out.

I will still enjoy one game at a time.

A DH sweep makes it 8 straight losses.   I was anticipating a DH sweep.   With Detmers pitching on the road, you can put that loss on the board.

The issues are 100% mental/cultural at this point. The talent gap has been bridged and there's no excuse for an 8+ game losing streak, especially one where the entire offense just forgets how to hit at the same time. And yet it happens every summer, regardless of GM or manager. The players just have a losing mentality. Like a roster full of Chris Pauls.

Maddon takes the "just happy to be here" approach to a fault. Sure, it's good to have a fun clubhouse with likeable players, but there has to be some sense of urgency. 

People are pining for Scioscia because he actually struck that balance with less talented rosters
