The DFA of Upton allows Maddon to keep another guy on the roster who has a little more position flexibility it was obvious that Upton when healthy can still hit. But, the 1st base experiment looked horrific and he has become a Butcher in the outfield..

Speaking of Buttrey, made his AAA debut Saturday, 1-2-3 inning with two GBs and one FB.

If memory is correct, wasn’t he a solid GB pitcher in 2018-2020?

Looked it up, well over 1.00 GB:FB ratio, only 12 HRs in 115 innings.

Maybe Upton does not want to play or right team has not made offer. If he wants to play I'm sure a team would sign him. Great move by Minasian to DFA him and go with young players.

So replace Wong and Rengifo with Mayfield and Whitehouse and I still feel this way.
