Probably because he was above league average in years one and two. And he’s started about 40 or so games in the majors. So giving up on him is premature

Is he one of the Halos’ answers to Anthony Davis though?

Too many days on the shelf so far in his career

Starting to lose hope in he and CRod ever being healthy

At what point do the Halos finally get lucky enough healthwise with the pitchers they draft?

Look at the OPS (career .808).

I get you but I think that a high on-base without high BA can be fleeting. But he has seen a decline in his numbers each year. So the A's are betting this continues. Either way they got 3 pitchers and 1 mid-inflield for him.

It’s literally the opposite

Explain how.

Because without the ability to draw a walk then your ability to get on base is dependent on batting average, which we know is dependent on hitting it where they aren’t.  You know what doesn’t slump? Plate discipline, awareness of the strike zone, and the ability to take a walk.

I can repect that but dont you think that BB is somewhat dependent on the team you are on. I guess I over-value moving running more. But overall, I think you are right in that higher OBP means they are not making an out.

Damn better scrabble for a different opening day starter I guess.

Think the Dodgers would trade us Heaney?

I mean, it wouldn't be the first time.
