Lou's point (I think): The Angels farm hasn't really produced many good prospects over the last ten years or so, especially relative to how many prospects we talk about in this thread.

My response: The farm is actually getting a bit better, certainly than it was five years ago. This year the main thing seems to be how many solid arms are emerging, mostly from last year's draft - and thus a lot of them in the high minors. All of sudden the Angels have a bunch of guys who profile as future major leaguers, maybe two or three of them as mid-rotation types: Bachman, Silseth, Bush, Erla, Crow, Seminaris, Murphy, etc - all in AA.

But the simple fact is that for every minor leaguer that reaches the majors, there are dozens who don't. So we're going to mention a bunch of guys who never pan out.

Anyone know anything about Jake Palomaki?  Signed as a minor league free agent shortly after the season started, seems to be hitting the ball pretty well in SL at SS and 2B.
