Not at all. Texas has lower taxes and a ton more freedom. Cost of living is a fraction of CA do your dollar goes further, and there's a lot more open space.

As much as I love CA, I don't blame anyone for choosing another state.

So you will understand no free agents signing here or anywhere in Ca?

The property tax in Texas is 3x that of CA. You actually pay more in taxes annually if you own a home than you pay in state taxes here.

the state gets you somewhere they just like to push the agenda that you don’t pay state income tax lol. It’s bs

To you and me maybe but not to a player making millions.

Me too.  But as Ettin mentioned the money, there is no state tax in Texas, and homes are much cheaper than here.

See my previous comment about the taxes. I have family who lives in Texas. They have a crumbling power grid and property taxes are 3x that of CA. Don’t believe the hype about no state income tax. Public entities (which I work with daily) always get their money. It’s all disguised.

I think the Angels will get three starting pitchers. We are all focusing on SP#2 right now, but in order to fit it in the budget, I'm thinking we may need to set our sights lower (sound familiar?).

As of right now, I think they'll get Stroman for 5/110, trade Marsh, Jackson and Barria for Luis Castillo and top it off with a Raisel Iglesias re-up in the neighborhood of 4/40.

Thaiss is the backup C, Rengifo, Wade and Mayfield battle it out at SS.

Rotation is Syndergaard, Stroman, Castillo, Ohtani, Sandoval and Suarez.

The late innings line up with Loup in the 8th, Iglesias in the ninth.

Gosh, I just want Max.  These #'s are games started is just too good to pass up.  Even at 37.

The politicians have messed up this state for years.

Still, cost of living, more land and a ton more freedom. Having been all over, So-Cal is locking things down tighter than everyone except NY and Massachusetts.

True. Still important to remember the state tax only applies to those 81 home games. The rest applies to each city you play in.

So if you're on the Rangers and you play the Angels and Oakland 19 times, plus occasional trips to the NL West, it's still a big chunk of games in CA. Obviously not 81, but ~20.

True. But if he makes $10 million he’s paying close to $1 million in state taxes after you factor in 90+ games in CA.
