Yep.  And counting on him as any sort of long-term rotation piece is clearly not an option.  I think you start planning on him as a bullpen piece moving forward.

What a disappointment Chris Rodriguez has been. 3 straight years with a back issue. Doesn't matter that it isn't his arm if it constantly keeps him off the mound, year after year. 

Time for him to put up or shut up. Can't stay healthy? You're a reliever at best.

My expectations for this team and this franchise have taken a deep dive this year. My interest will pick up next June if we're no more than seven games out of a playoff spot and Trout is playing without pain. Until then, meh.

Too many disappointing years. It's worn on me, and now the health issues are starting. Still a fan, but I expect absolutely nothing from here on. I will be pleasantly surprised though if Arte and management get their act together.

Regarding Rodriguez, unless a guy has a major injury - like something torn badly and possible surgery required - how can you say he won’t be healed and ready in six months. How could they possibly know that. Seems odd.

I think I am with you. Unless there are radical changes made this off-season - and I mean a shocking amount of talent brought in (like, Scherzer, Marquez, Iglesias, three other top bullpen arms and a Correa for good measure) - it’s hard to see how this team will compete with the Astros.

I don’t think you can count on him for either the rotation or pen….you hope he heals up and, if he does, it’s a bonus….

All this team needs is pitching.  Oh, and defense.  The rest is fine.

I feel like Minasian is even more evasive than most.   I guess I don't care if he says anything meaningful as long as he does stuff that's meaningful.
