OC Register: Orthopedic surgeon: Mike Trout’s nightmare calf injury no cause for alarm

It's a nothing article, just clickbait. The Doctor quoted, who is a physician for LA Kings, is describing "...injuries like the one Trout suffered...". He hasn't seen Trout or his medical files, he's just talking generally.

All we know is that Trout hurt himself running the bases several months ago and isn't close to being back yet, and whichever way you dress that up it is a 'cause for alarm' when you're talking about a player that is a cornerstone of your line-up who earns $35m per year.

@Angel Oracle You were asking about my brother's calf injury. He told me it was a Grade 2 strain, which is actually a tear. Surgery was not recommended. He injured it two years ago and it still hurts when he tries to run. Of course, my brother is 58 years old, so big difference from a 30-year old superstar athlete.

Please Trout, get well and return to full strength so we have a chance at the playoffs!

I recall that he was hurt while running out an inning-ending routine fly ball. Pulled up halfway to 3rd base then limped to the dugout. And that was it. Four months and still sore.

That's not how I remember it.

He was sprinting through a mine field, with no regard for his own life as he reached a burning building, which he then climbed up the side of (free hand), 25 stories to save a kid, broke through a window, grabbed the kid and then jumped out the window, grabbing another kid on a ledge on the 18th floor and then landed on top of a bed of rattlesnakes and then sprinted to safety.  That's when he hurt his calf.

All the while, Anthony Rendon was watching, but looking like he didn't care. Joe Maddon was sipping a glass of wine and looked up and said, "that's cool, man."

You just wrote this beautiful piece of fiction and yet I would still take your account of things over Chronic Eeyore Syndrome.
