At some point the two sides will have a deal.

Serious question:

Do you just want a deal done so baseball can happen, or are you legitimately entrenched on one aide of a particular issue?

If so, what is that issue that matters so much to you?

I would just like to see a deal get done.  I don’t really care about the details of what they are haggling over. You could flip a coin on each individual detail and I would be “ok whatever.”

I happen to think, for the most part, MLB players have it really good. Even if they don't pan out they've made a nice signing bonus and perhaps 500k or so if they sniff the majors.  If they never make it to MLB then they still have their whole lives to find a new profession. My acquaintance received a 1.1 million dollar signing bonus for signing in the second round, but never made it past AA. I'd say he did just fine. I'm fine with players attempting to get more of the revenue, but I'm also OK with owners somewhat playing chicken with them. I just want baseball.

Whatever happened to "compromise"?

Owners give up some things, players give up some things. Then a deal that neither loves gets done.

Instead of each side being afraid of "looking bad", and the perpetual hostility and one-upsmanship, why don't they look out for the game and the fans who end up bankrolling their profits?

I know...stupid and naive to desire such things.

Same.  I expect when a CBA runs out that both sides will test each other and then hammer something out.

I don’t feel sorry for either side.  Other than the co-pay for out-of-network specialists for the players.  It’s bullshit if this is anything over $50.

Where do people get these fantasies?

Your premise that neither side wants to compromise and that instead they are afraid of looking bad. . . is your own fantasy.
