So Gerrit Cole misses a couple of weeks to Covid protocols. Guess who starts against the Halos on Monday? Gerrit Cole. Lucky Angels.

Angels have faced Price, Urias, Buehler, Berrios, Greinke, McCullers, tomorrow... Cole.... All without Trout and Rendon.

Basically they've faced off against playoff rotations the last 10 days.

With Gerrit Cole coming tomorrow night. Doesn't get any easier unfortunately although I've seen he's had a few tough starts this year.

Quietly, the record in the past 25 games in 25 days is 13-12, better than I thought it would be.

One recent key, in addition of the starting pitching, is the work of Iglesias and Warren in the late innings, and even some emergence in the pen from Quintana.

Quintana since going into the pen in the latter part of June:

16.1 innings, 3.87 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 19 Ks, THREE BBs

Thus from a guy who walked 26 in 33.2 innings as a starter.

Pen is still more crappy than solid.

That 25 games includes 14 games against teams currently above .500.

So far

+.500 teams - 5-9

-.500 teams - 8-3

Pretty much mimicking the season  so far

Good news is after NY today, the following 9 games (albeit all road games) are against under .500 teams.
