Gameday Thread: Astros @ Angels (8/13/21): Sandoval on the mound, Ohtani leading off again, Stassi is back

Well, it was highly unlikely Ohtani and Walsh could have kept up their early/mid-season form.  Same for Gosselin, who has come crashing back down to earth--and Stassi, too.  And when the rest of the lineup is regularly filled with people like Mayfield, Lagares, and rookies who are exhibiting growing pains, it's not all  that surprising.  When your lineup is missing Trout and Rendon for 3/4 of the season, it's hard to sustain long-term offensive success.

I get that what Ohtani and Walsh were doing was not sustainable but Walsh has really went down hill hard and Ohtani has really stopped hitting the ball well and is walking less. It seems they’ve regressed harder Than we thought they would. It just sucks

Stassi first half .296/.377/.496/.873

Stassi second half .277/.351/.508/.859

he lost about 19 points in batting average but gained about 12 points in slugging percentage. That is not what you call crashing back down to earth.

of every season being under .500!!!!

When does it ever end?

When we get a reliable rotation, a competent bullpen, Trout and Rendon back at full production, Walsh remembering how to hit again, and maybe a new manager and coaches.

Did I miss anything?

Coming into tonight's game, Stassi was 4 for his last 25 with 13 K.
