It is amazing that he's a lock for 40 with a better than even chance of 50. Before the season started, most of us would have been psyched about 30.

Anyhow, on an affective level, I get it. When a player is as hot as Ohtani was for the month or so before the ASB, it starts feeling that's their normal level of performance. We see this with Trout every year. But he's prone to slumps just as any player, and had a few bad games a week and a half ago. And now he's had two sub-par games in a row. Oh well.
