Agreed, but that many HRs and a 6.30 ERA is not to be expected from him.

Yep. Outside of Walsh, what other hitter in the line up makes you feel like he gives them a chance?

He’s looking better than he has in 3-4 years.  Control is very good (36/6 Ks/BBs in 44.1 innings) to go with the solid 3.45 ERA.   He is 35.

Probably wouldn’t have taken much.  I probably wouldn’t have bothered with him but then again.  I’m not a guy making 6 figures or more to decide what players to get.

Other than a few players, this year is starting to resemble last year. And still nearly a hundred to play. Once they drop 5 games below .500 they just don't have the pitching to put winning streaks together. 

Good hitting disguises this to a degree, but this current lineup can't score much either. Even with the hot starts of Ohtani, Walsh and Trout they couldn't get past .500 more than a couple of games and sustain it.

Pitching and defense win you close games. Even low scoring ones.
