It's always that optimism of a new season and the excitement of that which hooks you in IMO. Personally, I figured they looked like a .500 team so I wasn't expecting playoffs from this bunch, which already tempered my excitement a ton, but I did not see them being this fucking terrible. There just is no rock bottom for this franchise, they keep finding new lows each and every season

For some reason they think they're "working the count" and it's going to go in their favor, but all they do is watch the best pitches of the at bat, then swing at the junk once their in the hole. I don't know why the mentality isn't just "look for a pitch to hit and swing at it."

That is exactly the mentality they employ, which is why they have the least walks in the league.

i heard something the other day the Angels haven't swept a series since 2019 or some junk like that. Maybe it was an away series, I don't remember, but it was a pretty terrible stat nonetheless.

At this point of the season, with Trout out another 5-7 weeks, when do we consider selling off pieces that we can move and calling up some young guys to see what we’ve got?

Yeah, I was thinking that too. We could probably trade Rendon actually if we want to shed payroll and start a bit of a rebuild.

For the record, I still think he's a good player. I just think it would be a good idea to kind of tear this shit down.

He started a pretty sharp decline early as he is only 33. Makes what Ortiz did in this area that much more impressive.
