I am sad that my old training partner Luke Williams won't be in the Olympics, but he is in the big leagues now! I don't believe he is complaining haha

I'm a little surprised to see the Rays willingly allow Shane Baz and Joe Ryan to compete. I'm also a little surprised the Red Sox were fine with Triston Casas, but off the field that kid is a patriot so unless he was getting promoted, he wouldn't miss his chance at representing the US.

You can watch the first game vs Israel tomorrow, on NBCOlympics.com, but you'll have to wake up early as it starts at 3 AM PT.

The WBC was so fun. The atmosphere in SD was like an MLB playoff game. No one cares about the olympics, but I’ll still be following along

8-1 victory for the US. Eddy Alvarez did the heavy lifting on offense. Joe Ryan showed why he's a top 100 prospect, needed only 70 pitches to get through six. Team Israel had done familiar faces, like Ian Kinsler, Blake Gailen, Danny Valencia and Ryan Lavernaway. 

US will play South Korea tomorrow, who figure, along with Japan to be the favorites as they use their professional players and play together as a national team for extended periods of time.
