I like that guy. I've always liked him as a player--he's this era's Jeff Bagwell--and am glad to see him resurge. But...he's still not the guy he was in 2009-17, when he was arguably the second best hitter in baseball (his 162 wRC+ during that span is second only to Trout's 169).

Sounds like the person could have said "Dinger".  Looks like it may have been the guy behind home plate waving at... Dinger.

Or maybe it was the guy I sat next to at the home run derby.  Oof.  That's a story for another day.  The short version is Denver PD came down to tell him not to use racial slurs.  I hadn't heard it.

Hilarious if he actually did say “dinger.” When I first heard about this incident, I thought he said the N-word, but the context with the mascot makes me think otherwise.
