Nice tune playing in the background. E.L.O., 'Mr Blue Sky'. Electric Light Orchestra were/are a very under-rated band.

I was lucky enough to see ELO a few years back at the Hollywood Bowl, they were fantastic. Jeff Lynne has his fingerprints on so much great music, a great talent.

this was our stereo when i was growing up. i didn't get my first real stereo until my senior year of high school.

on the top of the speakers, where the lift tops are located, on one side was the record player and on the other side was the radio. ours was a magnavox, and it was a beauty.

I remember us having a console stereo with the name Mitchell on it in the 1960s. From the beginning, the reject function on the turntable didn't work (I remember a guy coming out to fix it and failing), and there was a loud background hum if the balance was centered. High quality equipment.

We had one of those without the TV... I remember hearing Bobby Goldsboro's "Honey" playing on the turntable...

Have been to Meteor Crater a couple of times, fun place to visit.
It's privately owned, have read that the National Park Service has tried to acquire it multiple times.

How does someone own a meteor crash site like this?

The guy who bought the site, and tried to mine it, didn't consider the possibility that the valuable metals that he was looking for at the bottom of the crater were vaporized on impact. It has remained with the family ever since.
