well, i think my timing was perfect. i called in the last two nights and was told i didn't have to report. the added bonus was that they told me my service was completed. so i went in on tuesday for about 2 hours, called back on wednesday and thursday, and now my five days of jury duty is over.

it's kind of weird. the first two times i was summoned, it was to glendale. the last three or four it's been to downtown l.a. Same for my wife and my mom (for her last two times).

In my experience when you fail to respond to a jury summons you are punished by being sent downtown.
