It's pretty much implied. He automatically assumes all of Sessions' duties, no? One of them was to oversee the investigation, but he recused himself.

Firing Sessions is a roundabout on canning Rosenstein. Trump doesn't have to deal with the optics of personally firing Rosenstein, he gets rid of Sessions (which to all appearances is consistent with his comments about him previously ) and oversight goes to someone other than Rosenstein just as control of the house goes to Dems and Mueller is reportedly zeroing in on financials rather than an obstruction angle.

Adding on to what I said, it sure seems to me like Trump is going to do what he can to torpedo Mueller before the new faces/numbers in congress are in place. That's how he'll obstruct justice, though it probably won't technically be seen as such.

Eh. We might have a reality "star" President but that doesn't mean this investigation is an episode of Law and Order wrapped up in an hour.

 

I'm not sure what the end result of this will be but the one person I trust most in this whole thing is Bob Mueller. The guy just seems professional and reserved, the exact opposite of the idiots screaming from both sides of the aisle.

Don't know. It was a legit critique.

He had been there since the beginning, Reince Priebus was chief of staff at the time, and Sessions and Trump had history since before he decided to run. It was probably several things but I have no idea what.
