Reality was they all thought they had his most current tax returns and promoted it non stop. The network fucked up and didn't check what they had and went live with a giant goose egg. Maddow was rediculed for not vetting her information before lights up on the stage. They looked like a bunch of dumb amateurs and since they had dedicated the entire segment on the tax returns, even brought in an expert to talk about it, they forged ahead and looked even more like they were pranked.
