Poor Kim.

The aggressive rhetoric that prompted this might be a major miscalculation on his part. He may have thought he could 'play' Trump and get more favorable concessions. Now he has nothing but a blown up nuclear facility (if it really was destroyed, who knows...)

This is all negotiation tactics. He still has to leave the door open for future talks

Trump's negotiation style makes me intensely uncomfortable (I can't shake the thought that if NK does have an ICBM, LA would be a close, high casualty, convenient result - and I work in downtown), and I strongly dislike Trump (both as a person over the last 20 years and as a politician over the last 3 or so) - BUT, him pulling out of the deals very suddenly strikes me as a good move. It shows that he understands that the talks are a piece of leverage he has, and he is using it. No idea if it will work or not in the long term, but nothing else has, sooo...

No one should have had anything more then extremely cautious optimism about it in the first place. We’ve been down this road with NK several times before.  In the recent past even.  Trump didn’t do anything special.  It’s all the same shit.  The difference is that Trump is a show boating asshole.  And all his fan girls are desperate to give him credit wherever they can.

This will be a slow process to denuclearize North Korea. Most wise people will understand this. As far as Trump in this, he seems to have made more ground on it than previous leaders have. I am glad that he isn't going to play their games. This still isn't a dead issue
